The Official Google Blog reported a new milestone last week -
“We’ve known it for a long time: the web is big… Recently, even our search engineers stopped in awe about just how big the web is these days — when our systems that process links on the web to find new content hit a milestone: 1 trillion (as in 1,000,000,000,000) unique URLs on the web at once!”
Interesting information, but what does that mean for a salon owner? Well, it means you have a lot more competition for your salon website. The days when you could get plenty of enquiries just by listing your salon’s website on Yell.com, and mentioning it in your Yellow Pages advert may be passing. Is it time to put more effort into making sure your website is found by the potential customers who are searching for your service?
